TEACHER TRAINING COLLEGE
The Teacher Training College in Sieradz is a state-run institution (free of charge), under the supervision of Warsaw University. The period of study lasts 3 years, on a five-day-a-week basis. There is also an evening course run (only for the English section). The languages of study are English and German respectively. The classes are conducted by Polish teachers with university degrees as well as English and German native speakers.
The College aims at preparing students for the teaching profession. The graduates receive a diploma certificate, which entitles them to teach in primary schools, secondary schools and gimnazjum. The graduates can also apply for a licentiate degree, which enables them to obtain an M.A. degree at a university on extra-curricular studies (respective courses and exams are organised by universities throughout the country).
To ensure the highest qulaity of teaching staff the Teacher Training College in Sieradz has cooperated with St. Andrews University in Scotland, by employing the famous university's graduates as native-speaker teachers.
NKJO Sieradz offers students a variety of facilities, including: Library (over 11,000 volumes), Reading room, Computer laboratory, Language laboratory, Satellite television, Foreign language press, Students’ club and a Snack shop.
